June Ipsy Glam Bag Review

June Ipsy bag 2016

Another month and another Ipsy bag! I have to be honest I do not like the design of the bag this month. I love the purple zipper but that’s about it. However, what matters is on the inside, right? Lets get into the great and the not so great items I got this month!

Hey Honey 27Seven: Day and Night Revitalizing Cream

IMG_3341

Okay you guys. When I got this product I was a bit disappointed because I subscribed to Ipsy for new makeup products. However, after using this cream for the first time I immediately ate my words… I am SO happy I received this little lotion sample! Not only does it smell just like honey ( which I love over the chemically smell of other lotions) but it keeps my skin feeling hydrated ALL day long! It isn’t too thick for the summer and lays nicely under makeup. I do sweat a lot in the summer (it has been in the 90’s every day here recently!) but have never had any problems with it beading off my face. I will definitely be repurchasing this cream and I cannot wait to check out more from this brand! If anyone has any suggestions please leave them in the comments below!

Full sized: $38 for 1.7 fluid ounces

Deluxe Sample: $11.18 for 0.5 fluid ounces (This pays for the whole bag right here!!)

Check out Hey Honey here

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Fireball

See the pink/orange duo chrome? So beautiful!

I am very happy I got this eyeshadow in this month’s bag! I wish the sample was larger (seriously, this is the smallest shadow sample I think I’ve ever received) but I can’t complain too much. Overall, I love the formula and the peachy/pink duo chrome that lasted all day long. I love using this shadow just above my crease as the pink peeks out just slightly adding a fun dimension to any look!

Full sized: $19 for 1.5 grams

Sample sized: $2.53 for 0.2 grams (This is seriously disappointing in my opinion. Urban Decay is a large company and they could afford to offer a better sized sample.)

Seraphine Botanicals Happy Hibiscus Blush

P.S. The nail polish I’m wearing is from Color Club!

I am a blush junkie so this one was a welcome addition to my collection. I like that it isn’t a typical bright summer blush but more subdued. The website states that the blush can appear as a soft suede to a dusky rose on different skin tones. It pulled more suede (orangey-brown) on me which I really loved. For all of you wondering, this blush is also vegan!

Full sized: $18 for 2 grams (I couldn’t believe it but this blush was full sized!! Take note Urban Decay, this is great customer service!!)

Check out Seraphine Botanicals here

Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray

IMG_3356

Why has Ipsy been sending me so many hair products recently!? My hair is pin straight and this beach spray did absolutely nothing for me. I put it in my hair when it was damp and then left it in a bun to dry and within a hour of letting it down my hair was completely straight. If your hair has natural body and wave to it, this product may work for you but for all your ladies with straight hair, save your money!

*Side note – This beach spray does have a nice floral scent (not beachy like other salt sprays) and is very affordable! It may be worth trying if you like these types of texturing products.

Full sized: $8.99 for 4.2 fluid ounces

Sample size: $3.21 for 1.5 fluid ounces (Still a better value than the Urban Decay Eyeshadow… can you tell that is still bothering me? LOL!)

Check out Marc Anthony’s products at Ulta here

Formula X Nail polish in Wingwoman

IMG_3355

IMG_3258

After a week of wear! Rudy is photobombing in the background! 😛

Ever since receiving a Formula X nail polish in a previous Ipsy bag, I’ve been obsessed with their formula. This gorgeous red is no different. It applies easily, the color was opaque in one coat and it lasted me about a week before I had to repaint my nails. Definitely another great product!

Full sized: $10.50 for 0.4 fluid ounces

Sample size: $3.56 for 4 mL

Check out Formula X at Sephora here

Total price I paid for the bag: $10

Total value of the bag this month: $38.48 –> This is the lowest value of products that I’ve ever gotten in my Ipsy bag!

Even though this bag’s design was a dud for me, I still loved most of the products that were picked for me. I’m still waiting on a perfect month where all five are gems… Maybe soon? If you want to sign up for a monthly subscription with Ipsy, please use my referral link here and we both get points toward an extra product in our bags 🙂

Summer Trends: Pop poms and Tassels

I don’t know about you but my Instagram feed has recently been filled with colorful blouses dotted in pom poms and tassels. I am SO in love with this trend! The more color the better in my opinion but there are also many great options that are more subdued. Below I have linked many of my favorite pieces (tops, bottoms, accessories and shoes!) that I absolutely love and I think you will too! If you know of any other great places to find these trendy summer items, please let us all know in the comments below!

She In

This website has so many affordable (like under $20!!!) and trendy options! I found this store from another blogger’s Instagram and immediately placed my first order. They update their stock daily so there is always something new and exciting! Below I have linked my favorite pompom and tassel studded pieces they have available (as of right now!). Just click the green “here” and you will be taken right to the site! Be careful not to spend all your money on the great deals! 😉

Red Dress Boutique

This boutique is a bit pricey but I had to include some of their pieces! Boutiques have been the place that I have always thought of when I heard the words pompoms and tassels for years. So, it only seemed right to look to the professionals for this trend! Their clothing is so unique and unlike anything that you’ll see anywhere else; which is why I assume they charge more. However, I do love this store and definitely think it is worth the splurge for these items!

May Ipsy Glam Bag Review

IMG_2799

I love the design of the bag this month! I thought a travel theme was very fun and the bag is absolutely gorgeous. (I took this month’s picture on a pool floaty to try and stay with the vacation theme but you can’t even really tell – haha!). I love that it snaps shut to look like an envelope. I will definitely be reusing this bag in the future!

BellaPierre Cosmetics Nude Gel Lip Liner Pencil

IMG_3193 IMG_3194

I have heard rave reviews about this pencil on YouTube so I was very excited to receive it in this month’s bag. I am totally in love with this pencil! It is creamy, extremely pigmented, long lasting, and doesn’t dry out my lips. It is also supposedly water proof which I will be testing soon! I will definitely be purchasing more of these in the future!

Full size $18

Check out BellaPierre Cosmetics here

FORMULA 10.0.6 Pores Be Pure Skin – Clarifying Mud Mask

IMG_3185 IMG_3186

Most mud masks I’ve used in the past are black or brown so I was actually quite surprised when this one came out white! I am a big fan of masks so I am always game to try something new. This one was nice but nothing special.

Full size $6.99 for 3.4 ounces                             Sample Size: $2.05 for 1 ounce

Check out FORMULA 10.0.6 here

Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow Trio

IMG_3181 IMG_3182

I wasn’t sad about getting this eye shadow this month but not that excited either. The colors are all shimmery so I won’t be able to use them for one complete look (since I prefer to have mattes as well). However, I do like this trio. The pigmentation is nice and it is long lasting but I just don’t see myself reaching for it as much as I hoped.

Full sized: $12

Check out Pacifica here

PEEK Beauty Nom Nom Natural Lip Plumping Balm in Miracle

IMG_3183 IMG_3184

I wasn’t sure what to think about this balm when I tried it for the first time. I have never tried anything like it but was happily surprised that it did give a nice color to the lips. It didn’t burn my lips like some lip plumpers but I also saw no change in my lip size whatsoever. I like wearing this balm on a more natural makeup day but don’t expect it to magically make your lips bigger or fuller.

Full sized: $22*    (I could not find the amount of product that is actually in this product sold off the PEEK Beauty website. The packaging looks exactly the same but I’m not 100% sure if the sample I received was full sized or not. However, I am assuming it is for the sake of a price comparison)

Check out PEEK Beauty here

Shashbox Cosmetics – X-Rated Mascara

IMG_3187 IMG_3192

IMG_3188

I have to be completely honest here… I hate this mascara. It makes my lashes so clumpy and the formula is so wet that I constantly have smearing under my eyes. I will not be using this product again. However, I do absolutely love Smashbox Full Exposure mascara which seems to be the exact opposite of the one I received in my bag this month. I read a lot of reviews saying how much people love this mascara so maybe I got a bad one? Not sure… let me know if you have this mascara what you think!!

Full Sized: $22 at 0.3 ounces                             Sample Size $7.33 at .1 ounces

Check out Smashbox here

Total price I paid for the bag: $10

Total value of the bag this month: $61.38

I am happy with this month’s bag! I would have been happy if all I had gotten was the lip liner which in itself paid for the whole bag and more! If you want to sign up for a monthly subscription with Ipsy, please use my referral link here and we both get points toward an extra product in our bags 🙂

Dog Walking 101

IMG_1991

Hey guys! This weeks blog is all about dog walking etiquette! As many of you know, I have a year and a half old chiweenie pup that is super energetic and goes with me practically everywhere! I was prompted to write this blog after I was urged by Rover.com (more about this company below!)  to give my input on how I walk my little Rudy! Since I am doggy obsessed I agreed to contribute and below are the tips I use everyday 🙂 I truly hope they help you all!!

Walking on trails with your dog

Rudy LOVES to run after bikes. Not only can this be dangerous but it also can appear as aggressive behavior. The best way I have found to combat Rudy’s urge to run is to ask him to sit when I see a bike approaching. I squat down with him while we wait for the bike to go by and pet him to encourage him to sit still. After the bike goes by I will either give him a treat (if I have any on hand) or tell him “good boy!” and we will keep walking. This usually does the trick and can be a nice break if you are going on a long walk!

I have very mixed feeling about seeing an owner walking with their dog off leash. For a good rule of thumb, I would not recommend having your dog off leash on trails. In most parks this is not even allowed but inevitably someone will break the rules. Some dogs are very well trained and listen to their owners to stay close and not run at other dogs and people but even the best trained dogs can be unpredictable. It is not safe to assume that everyone you pass on your walk will be a dog lover and they may be frightened by the sight of your dog off it’s leash. There may also be other dogs walking the trail that are not dog friendly which could start a fight. To keep yourself and your pup safe, I would recommend always keeping your dog on their leash!

Feel free to encourage playing and running when it is just you and your dog. Rudy and I both enjoy running when no one else is in sight on the trails by my apartment. Sometimes we even go off trail and into the streams and follow deer tracks. On days when it is just Rudy and I, I tend to let Rudy lead, which is makes every walk different and enjoyable for you and  your pup!

Walking in the city or on busy streets

It is imperative to keep your dog on a short leash when walking by busy streets. Dogs sometimes have a tendency to run sporadically into the road and cars/bikes/buses are not expecting to slam on their brakes for a rouge dog in their path. To keep both your dog and others safe make sure that your dog only has enough slack to walk by your side comfortably.

As mentioned earlier, most dogs don’t understand the dangers of walking near a busy road. I try to always make sure that I am walking closest to the street and that Rudy is on the other side of me, away from the road. This means that if he does decide to bolt into the road that he will have to cross me and will not be able to make it into the street easily.

Sometimes sidewalks can become very clustered with pedestrians and other dogs. For the most part I continue to keep Rudy’s leash short and have him walking on the side of me that is farthest away from the road. However, if sidewalk traffic starts becoming too overwhelming I will pick up Rudy and hold him until things calm down. I know not everyone can pick up their dogs but since Rudy is so short to the ground I do worry about him getting caught up under someone’s unsuspecting feet. Bigger dogs are more easily seen and can navigate crowds easier but if you start to feel too overwhelmed you can always pull your dog over to the side of the road and wait it out!

Dog Park Etiquette

Do not assume that all dogs at the dog park are friendly. A common misconception about the dog park is that all dogs there are going to be nice and receptive to both humans and other dogs. While most people do bring dogs that get along great with others, some people do bring their more aggressive pets. Always ask before petting or letting your dog play with another dog. It is important to keep your dogs on a leash if the owner is not sure of how the interaction will go to make sure that you will be able to easily pull your dog away in case of an emergency.

Ease your dog into the dog park. Because Rudy is so small (about 7 pounds) I always try to go to dog parks that have an area for small dogs to play. However, sometimes there are no dogs in the small dog designated area and Rudy will cry the entire time wanting to be with the dogs on the other side of the fence. If this is the case, I make sure to ask the owners of the larger dogs how their dogs do with smaller dogs. If they say they do well with all dogs, I will take Rudy over to their side and let them play. Sometimes an owner will even be willing to bring their dog over to the smaller dog area so that Rudy will have a companion. I know it is tempting, but even if one owner says their dog does not do well with smaller dogs, please never put your dog in a potentially dangerous situation. Instead opt for playing fetch or chase or even going for a walk around the park. There are many ways to tire your dog out and it is always good to get in your exercise as well!

Thank you for reading up on my dog walking tips! I would love to hear yours in the comments below!  And lastly, if you are looking for a trusty dog walker in your area check out Rover’s dog walking services where they have thousands of trusty locals that can help you out in a pinch!

Stay Fierce Boutique Review

For those of you that have been asking about the beautiful dress that I wore at The Biltmore, I finally have this blog post for you!! I bought this dress at Stay Fierce Boutique which has the most gorgeous dresses and rompers for everyday and special occasion wear (For GREAT prices!! $20 – $35!!). In these pictures I am wearing the Oceanista Maxi Dress but I will also link similar ones below if you are interested!

I personally styled this dress pretty simply, with only a delicate bracelet and necklace with brown and gold sandals since I knew we’d be outside most of the day. However, I also think it would look gorgeous with a statement necklace and wedges to dress it up! This dress plunges down pretty low in the front and back so I opted to wear nipple covers so I did not have any bra lines showing. However, a cute bralette would also look great with this dress! (I have a navy one that I plan on pairing with this dress soon for a night out!)

I have a coupon code if any of you are interested in placing an order that will give you 15% off your whole purchase!! Just use the code LOVELEAH 🙂 Enjoy all the pictures below, including more of The Biltmore!

April Ipsy Bag Review – Biltmore Edition!

IMG_2643

This month, I decided it would be fun to take pictures of my Ipsy bag at the Biltmore in Asheville, NC!  I will have many blog posts up showing what I wore while we were there and showing the inside of this massive mansion. Make sure to subscribe below so you don’t miss those posts!! Now on to the bag… I don’t love the design of the bag this month. For some reason it looks cheaper than bags from previous months. I’ll probably pass it on or donate it because I have quite a large collection now! However, just because the bag was a dud doesn’t mean that I didn’t absolutely love my bag this month!!

IMG_2397

IMG_2399

I’m wearing the nail polish, Lip Surgence and eyeshadow that I received in these pictures!

Tarte Cosmetics – LipSurgence lip crème in Wonder

IMG_2648

I am a big fan of Tarte lip products and was happy to get this in my bag. It is creamy and the color is perfect for summer! However, with the matte and liquid lip trend it is quite odd wearing a lipstick that is creamy and will actually wear off after eating! I definitely have been reaching for it often though and am thinking about purchasing another LipSurgence lip creme!

Sample size – 0.05 ounces $12

Full size – 0.1 ounces for $24

Check out this lip creme here

Luxie Beauty – Dreamcatcher Tapered Highlighter Brush 522

IMG_2649

I almost screamed when I saw I would be receiving this brush!! I fell head over heels in love with Luxie brushes when I got one in a previous Ipsy bag and I can’t believe I was lucky enough to get this highlighting brush! Once again, it is super soft, blends like a dream and I can’t wait to use it every day!

Full size- $24

Check out this highlighter brush in rose gold here

Probelle – Nail Lacquer in “In Or Out”

IMG_2644

leah with flowers edit

This color is really beautiful (it is also my favorite color so I may be a bit biased :P). I was very impressed with how the polish applied and lasted on my nails. I have been wearing it for about two weeks to see how well it would last and while they are chipped, a lot of color still remains on my nails! I already have a large nail polish collection but for those of you looking for a good quality nail polish on a budget, I’d suggest checking out Probelle.

Full size – $6

Check out this polish here

Nomad Cosmetics – NOMAD X Marrakesh Intense Eyeshadow in Desert Sands

IMG_2645

IMG_2646

I was quite skeptical when I saw this product because it was much smaller in person than I expected. However, that being said, I am so in love with this eyeshadow!! You HAVE to use it wet and it is amazingly gorgeous! I put it all over my lid and blended it into my crease and there was so much dimension in that one shadow that I just used this one color. I cannot wait to purchase more of their shadows in the future and watch their brand grow!

Sample size – 0.05 ounces ~$3.72

This product comes in a palette with six other eyeshadows, travel size mascara, kohl eyeliner and a dual-ended brush sold for $47. The eyeshadows in the palette are 0.07 ounces

Check out Nomad cosmetic’s collaboration with Marrakesh here

Moroccanoil – Moroccanoil Treatment

IMG_2647

This product just didn’t work for me. Adding extra oil to my already naturally oily hair just made it look worse. I used it a few times on the ends of my hair and every time I felt as if I needed to wash my hair by the end of the night. I could see this product being great for someone that has dry or heat damaged hair but I would advise skipping it otherwise.

Sample size – 0.33 ounces $4.27

Full size – 3.4 ounces $44

Check out Moroccanoil here

This isn’t my favorite bag that I’ve ever received, since I can’t use one of the products, but I still got my money’s worth! The total worth of products that I got was almost five times the amount that I payed which makes me very happy. 🙂 This would honestly have been the best Ipsy bag ever if I could have just swapped out that hair oil!!

Total price I paid for the bag: $10

Total value of the bag: $49.99

Styling A Summer Dress From Target

leah in target dressI recently bought this dress at Target and was inspired to write a blog showing how I would style it. Fit and flare dresses are incredibly versatile and perfect for warmer weather. I personally paired mine with a bralette but a strapless bra would work as well if you don’t want any extra straps showing. I challenged myself in putting both of these outfits together by only shopping at Target, so everything in this look book is affordable! I hope you enjoy the pieces I put together!

You can find this dress in Target stores and also here
Women's Floppy Hat with Tassels Trim Tan - Merona™

Women's Venice and Violet™ by Dogeared Heart Charm Y Necklace Plated in 14K Gold - Gold (16"+ 2")Women's Edyth Gladiator Sandals - Merona™

I am definitely more of a comfy girl when it comes to fashion so this outfit is my favorite of the two. I am so obsessed with this floppy hat! It would look adorable with braided pigtails (pancaked for added volume, of course!). I added this dainty necklace since the neckline is so high on the dress that anything too long would look out of place. A small choker necklace would look adorable as well! The gladiator sandals add a bit of pizzazz and can be re-worn over and over throughout the spring and summer. I love the gold zipper detailing! This would be the prettiest outfit to wear all summer long!

Check out the products I mentioned!

Women's Fashion Necklace with Simulated Pearls - Silver/White (19.5")Women's Meredith Espadrille Sandals - Merona™ - TanWomen's Structured Crossbody With Detachable Shoulder Strap - BEIGE NUDE

To spice this dress up, I focused on a chunky statement necklace that would compliment the high neckline. I love pairing pears and floral’s, it adds such a girly touch to any outfit! I added this small nude crossbody which would be great for holding all of your essentials for a night out or a special event. I chose the wedges for some added height and because they were just too cute not to include in this look book! I am already quite tall so I do not wear heels very often but even I would love to have these shoes! It’s also great for a woman that feels more comfortable in heels than flats!

The Leibster Award

I’m sure some of you will have heard of it, but if you haven’t, the Leibster Award is a way of bloggers nominating each other, in a bid to get to know other new bloggers, which is so great! The sea of bloggers is vast and this makes it so much easier, and its interesting getting to learn something new about the person behind the blog!

Once nominated, you must answer questions that the person who has nominated you suggests, and continue the process (rules below). Thank you to Emily via her blog The Little Chronicles for nominating me! Here are the questions she asked me:

Why did you start blogging in the first place?

I started my blog as a way to express myself. I have been so focused on school for the past years of my life that I really did not have any hobbies, so starting my blog and Instagram was a big leap of faith for me. I wanted to be able to share my creativity and love of all things beauty, fashion and travel. I am really so blessed by the support that I’ve gotten along the way!

What is your mission for your blog?

I am still deciding on which direction to take my blog (beauty? fashion? travel? a mix of all?) but I hope to be able to brighten everyone’s days with my posts. I want to spread positivity and share what I love with others!

Who is your biggest inspiration?

My biggest inspiration for my blog has to be other growing bloggers! It is such a great community and everyone is so supportive of each other. If I ever feel in a rut, I just start searching for new bloggers and always find such great inspiration for new posts!

Where do you see your blog in the future?

I hope to have more time to devote to my blog and be able to post multiple times a week. I would LOVE to work with brands to share products that I sincerely enjoy. I want to redesign my website and invest in more lenses for my camera to provide the best content possible.

If you were given a free ticket to any place right now, where would you travel and why?

I would have to pick somewhere warm and tropical like Hawaii. I think it would be so relaxing to lay by the ocean when it still isn’t too hot outside! Plus, there is so much wildlife to explore on the islands. I would love to go to Kauai!

What was the last blog post you read about, and who was it by?

I am so obsessed with Amber Fillerup’s blog BarefootBlonde. Her latest post was about the winners of her giveaway meeting up with her in NYC. Her pictures are always gorgeous and of the best quality. I aspire for my blog to be like hers one day!

If you had to give one, what would you best skincare/beauty tip be?

Be nice to your skin!! Take your makeup off every night, do not tug, pull or pick at your skin, and use gentle products that will help clarify and cleanse your face.

What is your most annoying habit?

I get overwhelmed very easily which makes it difficult for me to get things done. This is very frustrating as I typically have a very full “to-do” list for each day but I am working on doing better!

What is at the top of your current “me” shopping wishlist and why?

The newest Tarte blush palette! I have been so obsessed with the blush palette from Too Faced that I cannot wait to buy another one. Hopefully I’ll be able to get my hands on it soon!!

What would you say your mantra/moto for life is?

Let It Be. I’ve loved this Beatles’ song for years and the message of letting go things that don’t matter. It is a great reminder to not sweat the small stuff.

What is the last song that was played on your iPod?

This is a tough one since I haven’t used my iPod in years but my favorite song currently has to be “No” by Meghan Trainor. Is it just me or does it remind you of 90’s Britney Spears? The beat is so catchy and I love to jam to it on my way to school in the morning. It’s the perfect empowering song for a Monday morning!

Now, here are my questions for you!!

  1. How did you choose the name for your blog?
  2. Who is your biggest encourager?
  3. What is the best quality about yourself?
  4. What quote inspires you the most?
  5. What has been your best vacation?
  6. What is your favorite snack?
  7. Do you plan on taking another direction with your blog in the future?
  8. What is your favorite makeup/beauty product?
  9. Who are some other bloggers that you love?
  10. What is something you can’t live without?
  11. What is a goal you have set for yourself this year?

Bloggers I nominate are:

Julia from Julia and Jax

Emma from Call it Chic

Make Life Pretty

Sarah from Sarah Tahami

Sammy from Sammy Hearts This

Jen & Lex from Jen and Lex

Mollie from Mollie’s Beauty Bible

Nataly from Beautifully Elegant

Claire from Claire N Connell

Nikki from NY In The City

Shannon from The Birdy Beak

So girls, the rules:

  1. Thank the blogger that nominated you through your blog or social media

Travel Beauty Favorites!

products i love march 2016 edit

I have recently been traveling nonstop which means I have been living out of a small suitcase and an even smaller makeup bag! Narrowing down your makeup collection is always a challenge but these are my all-star items that have made my life so much easier while being on the go!

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Soft Spoken – This liquid lipstick came in my March Ipsy bag which I just reviewed in my last blog which you can check out here. I love this rosey mauve color for a darker “my lips but better” color. It is perfect for every day as it lasts all day long without wearing off. It even lasted through all 3 meals! I have worn it everyday that I put on lipstick and I personally think it has complemented every outfit that I’ve worn very nicely!

Too Faced Love Flush Blush Palette – I have been dying to get my hands on a blush palette for months now so when I saw this beauty was for sale at Ulta I immediately added it to my cart! I plan on doing a whole blog devoted to this palette even though it was limited edition because all of the shades are permanently sold in full size packaging. While traveling I used them both as blushes and eyeshadows so they are extremely versatile and long lasting. Expect my review to be up within the month!

Almay Smart Shade Skin Tone Matching Makeup – I bought this CC cream on a whim because I was in desperate need of a foundation that wasn’t too orange for my skin tone. However, I fully intended on returning it once I could go out and buy the IT Cosmetics CC cream. Well, can you imagine my surprise when I ended up liking the Almay CC cream more than IT Cosmetics?! I have been so impressed with this foundation! It lasts all day, doesn’t stick to any dry patch, mixes well with moisturizer and has SPF. It comes out white and as you blend it in to your skin it changes to match your skin color. I have the shade light and it seems to match me very well. I get light coverage blending it in with my fingers and medium coverage if I use a beauty blender, which is what I do most days. It is now my go to foundation and I definitely recommend trying it if you are looking for a good CC cream!

Colourpop highlighter in Lunch Money – This highlighter was one of the first items I bought from Colourpop and is still one of my most used products. It gives the most beautiful luminous golden glow to this skin without being too harsh for lighter makeup days. I apply it with my ring finger to the tops of my cheekbones, tip of my nose and cupids bow. Since this highlighter is cream based, I do not apply powder over top of it because I feel as if it takes away the extra sheen, which is my favorite part!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water –  I have very sensitive skin and soaping up dry makeup remover wipes to take off my makeup was making my skin red, irritated and dry. I have heard many beauty gurus on YouTube rave about this particular micellar water so I decided to give it a try. I don’t know what is in this water that makes it so magical but it truly is amazing! You get so much product for $9.00 and I no longer have problems removing my eye makeup! It is gentle on my skin, doesn’t dry me out and never burns my eyes. I really wished that I had bought this product sooner. If you also dread taking off your makeup every night like I did please try this out!!

Wet N Wild Setting Spray – Still being pretty new into using makeup, I have never used a makeup setting spray. I only recently decided to buy this one because I noticed my foundation looking cakey. So far, I have really been loving setting my makeup! I spritz it all over my face (BEFORE MASCARA!! – trust me, if your mascara is not waterproof you will be left with a black, watery mess) about 7 to 9 times and then let it dry. It’s really that simple! I have noticed that more of my powder lasts until the end of the day and the added moisture is always a bonus.

Formula X nail polish in Revved Up – I received this nail polish in an Ipsy bag in December and fell in love with the formula. I work at a nursing home and this polish still lasts about a week on me. Plus, you can’t beat a good rose gold metallic color. Once this sample runs out I will definitely be purchasing the full size!

March Ipsy Glam Bag Review

march ipsy bag came edit

I am FINALLY back to blogging. This month has been crazy with traveling, school, family and work but everything is slowly winding down. I thought it would be appropriate to celebrate my return with this month’s Ipsy review as it was one of my most popular blogs and I get so excited to share what I got in my bag! This month Ipsy released three different bags and I received the one that is mint green. I am billed $10 on the 1st of every month and typically receive my bag by the 15th of the month. Below is my review of the 5 products I received!

  • I have linked the websites of the companies and any other products I have talked about in this blog! They are linked through the red “here”. Just click on it and it will take you to the site! 🙂

Living Proof – Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo

IMG_1554

When I saw this product was in my bag I was a bit disappointed as I use Ipsy for new makeup products. However, this dry shampoo really surprised me! Unlike most dry shampoos it actually seemed to remove some of the oil from my hair and add a bit of volume. It really did make a difference on my second day hair which I can’t say for any other dry shampoos so this one ended up being a great product!

Full Size: $22 for 4 ounces

Deluxe Sample: $9.90 for 1.8 ounces

Me Me Me – Loose Powder Brush

IMG_1555

I am a big fan of trying out new makeup brushes and expanding my collection. I just recently started receiving brushes in my bag so I was excited to get this one. It wasn’t anything special, just a regular powder brush. I would compare it to the e.l.f. mineral powder brush which is only $3 and is available at most drugstores.

Full Size: £14 converted to $19.88

Global Beauty Care – Dead Sea Wash Off Mask

IMG_1556

My boyfriend and I had a lot of fun doing this mask together! We both have very sensitive skin but neither of us had any bad reactions (burning, redness, dryness, ect.). It was quite relaxing but I didn’t noticed any difference in my skin after the few uses that I got out of this packet.

Full Size: $9.99 for 5 ounces

Sample Size: $1.99 for 1 ounce

TEMPTU – Warm Glow Bronzer

IMG_1559

This product is made to be used in an airbrushing system for a more flawless makeup application. But, you can also apply this with a brush or beauty blender

Blended out – it left a shimmer which is difficult to see in this picture

I was surprised when I saw that I was going to be getting a bronzer in this month’s bag. I am very pale and most bronzers just look orange on me so I tend to stay away from them. This one is no exception. However, I think it would be good to mix into a foundation that is a shade or two lighter than your skin tone to add a bit of luminosity to your face. If I ever find a foundation that is too light I will be using this!

Full size: $27.50 for 1 fluid ounce

Sample Size: $6.88 for 0.25 fluid ounces

NYX Cosmetics – Liquid Suede Creme Lipstick

IMG_1560 IMG_1565

With just one layer of product, this is the color that you get on your lips – so beautiful!

IMG_1595

This is the brown color that I got when I layered the lipstick. It is a really pretty color if you like brown lips but it was a totally unexpected color change from the pink!

I’m already a huge fan of NYX, as I’m sure most other makeup lovers are, so this was the item I was most excited about. I received the shade Soft Spoken which is a beautiful mauve rose when applied in one coat and dries pretty matte within 10 minutes (also it doesn’t transfer unless you intentionally rub your lips!). When I tried to layer the color it began to look more brown and did not dry at all. I wish you could layer the color more easily but I have still been using this lip color on the daily.

Full Size: $7

Overall, I am happily surprised by this month’s bag. I didn’t think I would like many of these products when I first tried them but after using them for a couple of weeks I find myself reaching for all of the items quite frequently except for the bronzer.

Total price I paid for the bag: $10

Total value of the bag: $45.65

If you want to sign up for a monthly subscription with Ipsy, please use my referral link here and we both get points toward an extra product in our bags 🙂
